Type Design
Emil Ruder alone had a tremendous impact on the typographical aspect of the International Typographic Style.
His goal was to achieve harmony and balance using a selection of neutral sans-serif typefaces including Univers, created by Adrian Frutiger.
“Typography has one plain duty,
to convey information in writing.”
Emil Ruder
The Univers typeface, was until 2003 the most widely used sans-serif face.
Composed of 44 faces, with 16 uniquely numbered weight, width, and position combinations.
