Josef Müller-Brockmann is also referred to the God of Grid. He specialized in grid systems and wrote several books explaining them. The most prominent one called “Grid Systems” was a manual for graphic designers, typographers, and photographers that coached them on how to use grids.
Along with the visual connection, he was able to explain typefaces, columns, margins, leading, proportions, and how to apply them all to an asymmetrical layout. By following his advice, everything in the grid system would have a purpose.
